| Viagogo Loses Patent Infringement Case |
Chicago-based Ticket Reserve, Inc. ("TTR"), the originator and patent rights owner of the proprietary "FORWARD MARKET"
technology platform for obtaining ticket options for major sporting
events, announced today that it reached a settlement in its patent
infringement case against Viagogo, Inc.
While the terms of the
settlement are confidential, TTR succeeded in protecting its patent
rights and made clear today that it will continue to pursue any
enterprise that offers unlicensed FORWARD MARKET technologies.
TTR's extensive patent portfolio includes numerous patents for
"options" or "forward reservations" based on participant or other
contingency factors to any live event, including sports, music and
other performances.
TTR, innovator of the online forward market where tickets, services and products can be reserved on a contingency basis, licenses its technology platform, and therefore rights to operate Forward Markets, to owners of live event rights that are committed to integrate the benefits of Forward Markets, both for themselves and their consumers/fans, into their web properties. Current licensees include the Tournament of Roses, host of this year's 2010 Citi BCS National Championship Game and Major League Baseball Advanced Media. Today, fans that desire to attend the BCS National Championship College Football game to be played on January 7, 2010, can purchase a "Team Ticket Reservation" at: http://teamreserve.tournamentofroses.com. "After the litigation of the past year against Viagogo and others, we are pleased to know that the only legitimate 'forward markets' are TTR's. Today's settlement clearly recognizes Ticket Reserve's proprietary rights in the intellectual property of Forward Markets," said Rick Harmon, CEO and Founder of TTR. "Whether you 'option it' or 'reserve it', the online offering of a forward and contingent rights based instrument to a sporting event, is clearly one of the protected domains of our technology and intellectual property platform. TTR will continue to vigorously protect its patent rights and proprietary intellectual property". About TTR, Inc. TTR, Inc., founded in 2001, is dedicated to providing its licensees a robust, scalable and secure technology platform based upon a well protected intellectual property portfolio that enables passionate buyers an entirely new and compelling way to gain access to the things which they most desire, while providing the world's most sought after brands an entirely new capability by which they can reach and delight these passionate buyers.
