After travelling on Virgin's environmentally friendly 125mph tilting trains to Euston, the groups from Liverpool and Manchester will then travel to Wembley stadium where the Football Association will receive their bids. Both groups have high level involvement from their city councils and football teams. Tony Collins, Virgin Trains' Chief Executive said: 'We have some of the UK's greatest cities on our route, and I know that they can stage great mass-participation events. We look forward to transporting the world to Liverpool and Manchester for the FIFA World Cup(TM) in 2018.'
