Seatwave are hosting the auction for learning disability charity Mencap.The night will mark a festive homecoming for Exeter born-and-bred Chris Martin and a spectacular treat for the audience. The stunning Exeter Castle (also known as Rougemont Castle) will serve as a backdrop for this unique event, which will be staged inside a marquee transformed into a Christmas Winter Wonderland for the occasion. It will be in this festive, intimate setting that La Roux, Lily Allen and the legendary Coldplay will perform unique, stripped back sets ensuring the crowd is in for an incredible treat as the decade draws to a close. Commenting on the charity auction, Joe Cohen, Founder and CEO of Seatwave, said: “We’re really proud to be involved with this concert and to support a charity like Mencap. With just 500 fans it’s going to a pretty intimate performance. Coldplay haven’t played back in Chris Martin’s hometown since 2000, so it’s sure too be an amazing night.” When Seatwave hosted a charity auction for Led Zeppelin tickets in 2007 it raised £44,550 for The Action for Brazil’s Children’s Trust, a charity to help the country’s most vulnerable youngsters set up by Jimmy Page, Led Zeppelin’s virtuoso guitarist.
