United States, in 2009 one million spectators at concerts 'ticketless'

altAccess to concerts without a paper ticket (if presented just outside the entrance with an ID, credit card and a printed proof of purchase from the PC) is already a reality in the United States, where promoters are beginning to counter on-line auctions, touts and the secondary ticketing.

During 2009, Ticketmaster announced they have used the new option for more than one million of its customers, at the North American Wonder World Tour of Miley Cyrus  as well as the Metallica concert  at the O2 Arena in London in September. The paperless ticket appeals were  also used by (in order of number of "paperless tickets sold) The Black Ice tour of AC / DC, The Working On A Dream tour Bruce Springsteen, The Glitter and Doom by Tom Waits and the Wave Goddbye tour by Nine Inch Nails.
