Beyoncé paid $2 million performing for Colonel Gaddafi’s son?

altHe can certainly afford the ticket and “Hannibal” Gaddafi was sure to have a ringside seat when Beyonce Knowles gave her raunchiest best at a private performance this New Year’s Eve on the Caribbean island of St. Barts.

And tickets didn't come cheap. According to Portuguese columnist Vivi Mascaro, the 300 guests paid $12,000 (£7,500) per table. Still, if this You Tube video shot on a mobile phone is anything to go by, the audience got a thrilling show.

The son of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi was also treated to sets by Usher and Bon Jovi but Beyoncé appears to have scooped the lion’s share of the cash, walking away with a rumored $2m for an hour long set.

Mariah Carey is sure to be a trifle miffed; she only managed $1m (£625,000) last year when she performed at the same club, Nikki Beach, for Hannibal’s brother Saif al-Islam Gaddafi.  Then again, aside from their paterfamilias, Hannibal is perhaps the more notorious Gaddafi. He’s alleged to have been involved in several assaults on police officers, Swiss businessmen and even his own wife.
