| Germany and YouTube Disagreement Continues |
|
Germany, unlike most other European counties (including the Netherlands and UK), does not have a formal agreement with Youtube, hence the blocking of thousands of videos for Youtube users in Germany. One seventh of the music video holders (mostly record companies) are getting paid for having their videos on the website, but the German music society (GEMA) this is not enough and they have requested one cent per clicked video from YouTube. Patrick Walker, a YouTube Spokesperson and Manager recently announced, at the "Midem" Music Event in Cannes, France that Youtube also has plans to broadcast and charge for Live Concerts from famous global music brands. The concerts will be broadcast live on a special YouTube concert-channel and they will be broadcast live. "YouTube wants willing partners with whom the can grow,"stated Walker.
