Extra U2 Concert in Zurich? - Promoter Good News and Live Nation Entertainment Negotiating

altThe tickets for the U2 concert on the 11th of September to be held in Zurich, Switzerland, are sold out. But there’s still a chance for the fans without a ticket. Swiss concert organizer Good News  is working on organizing an extra concert. They say they are shocked themselves about the run on the U2 tickets for the concert in Zurich on the 11th of September.

"We are currently clarifying with the organizer Live Nation, whether it is possible to organize due to high demand, an additional concert," says Good News spokesman Marc Reinhardt on request. "However, one must first clarify whether it is logistically possible and if it would fit with the schedules."

“It’s difficult to predict the chances of another concert.”

To the question, how big the chances on another concert of the Irish rockers are Rheinhardt stated:

“Our experience shows that the negotiations with Live Nation are taking very long. We will communicate something next week at the earliest.”

Rheinhardt added that negotiations with Live Nation are not easy as they dictate the ticket prices, and that Good News barely is making any money on these concerts. The Swiss promoters were obliged to sell U2 Zurich Tickets for 45 Swiss Franks, although they could easily have asked for 100 each. Another problem for the Swiss promoters is that the stadiums in Switzerland are not profitable for the bigger bands like U2, because they only fit 22.000 people instead of 80.000 - like the huge venues in other European countries.
