Ten Concerts of the Popular German ‘Klavier-Festival Ruhr’ already sold out!

It's only been three months prior to the kick off of the German Klavier-Festival Ruhr ... and already ten concerts are sold out. Organizers in Essen (Germany’s Cultural Capitol), said last Tuesday that the presale that started in December has been a raging success. For example, there are now no more tickets available for the jazz-concert with Helen Schneider and Olaf Polziehn on the 26. of June in Hattingen and the last concert to close off the festival with Till Brönner and his Piano Friends on the 23rd of July in Recklinghausen.

The city of ‘Essen’ and the Klavier Festival are combining powers...  Essen will not only concentrate on their own programme, but they are also using their cultural and creative network in the German Ruhrgebiet to push the event.

The Klavier-Festival starts on the May 8th, and as part of the Cultural Capitol City of the Year the festival, will focus on composers Sebastian Bach, Robert Schumann and Frédéric Chopin. Famous international pianists like Martha Argerich, Murray Perahia, Pierre-Laurent Aimard or Piotr Anderszewski will perform.

Last year over 56.000 visitors paid the festival a visit.
