Peter Maffay wins lifetime achievement award at ECHO 2010 and goes on Tour!
The absolutely ecstatic 60-year-old German Rocker Peter Maffay picked up the Lifetime Achievement Award at the German Music Award Show ‘Echo 2010’ which took place in Berlin last night and now plans to head out on tour.

“Usually people get such an award at the end of the career, it caught up with us a little bit earlier. I see it more as a something in between. When I take a look at all the activities I have planned for the next years, then this award really IS an award in between,” said Maffay.

Maffay is also celebrating 40 years on stage and just released the album “Tattoo” as part of this celebration, which has now reached number 1 in the German Album Charts. The tour is proving to be popular with a record 152.000 tickets sold. Songs of his new album “Tattoos” as well as many classics from “Steppenwolf” and “Über sieben Brücken” will be played at the gigs.

The rocker himself added:
“We promised our friends and fans something special and are off course delighted to see that so many people are coming to see us and celebrate with us. We will have a great time together.”
