Euticketshop.com - A Scam Website? Web Detectives Say Yes

The ticket sleuths at Safeconcerts.com have dug up another alleged and strongly-suspected ticket scam site at Euticketshop  http://www.euticketshop.com. Speculation that it is a scam site has peppered the net and even made Radio 4 in the U.K.

The Big Chill Festival has a screaming headline on their frontpage asking people not to buy from Euticketshop.com.

It is remarkably similar in design, according to one expert... with some of the some artwork as was used by a website allegedly based in Norway that seems to have disappeared, and appears to follow the modus operandi of unethical, speculative sites who offer tickets at low prices and then take months to repay, if at all. It's a form of 'Short Selling' where they hope the price will drop and they will make a profit, but if it doesn't, they simply don't buy the tickets and try to hold onto the money.

"Yet another website has mysteriously appeared offering tickets to almost everything except the second coming and armageddon!" states Markland, a power user at the site.

On further investigation, it appears that the domain name, EUticketshop.com was purchased for one year only... which is highly unlikely for a future business plan. The registrar is also buried behind a protected name service (protecteddomainservices.com) out of the United States by Name.com in Denver, Colorado and hosted by The Planet and not the U.K. And it says it's based in London. At a mail drop at 56 Tavistock Place, WC1H 9RG

Further investigation with a call to their phone number revealed the expected all operators are busy issues on a dozen attempts on two separate days... not surprisingly.

For example, Euticketshop.com are selling block A3 tickets (£295.00) are an astounding £100 cheaper than the primary and main seller, Ticketmaster (£399.97), for an Alicia Keys concert on May 25, 2009.

Or Euticketshop's reserved seating for Pink in Glasgow is a whopping five-and-a-half quid over the rock bottom price at Ticketmaster - which won't even cover their costs.

And for euticketshop's T in the Park, they are a mere 0.75 cents over cost at Ticketmaster. How generous!
