Indian Events Portal Buzzintown Launches in North America
Dedicated to the promotion of events and entertainment in India, Buzzintown today launched its coverage in 16 cities across the US and Canada. Its target is the growing non-resident and ethnic Indian community across North America. The site also provides access to a robust online ticketing platform and currently has over 1.7 million registered users in India.

Dr. Amitabh Saran, Co-founder and CEO, Buzzintown, is confident about the website’s success:

"The North American events and entertainment market has seen significant traction in 2009 with the market growth pegged at around 10 per cent a year. The launch is also in line with our strategy to tap the exponential spending capacity of the community which consumes Indian news, movies, music and local events."

The North American version of Buzzintown has added features including recommendations, suggestions and information on events of the week and a movies section that features up-to-the-minute releases and reviews. Buzzintown is packed with event related news, reviews, features on both national and local artists. It boasts coverage of over 100 categories of entertainment.

The portal already has a presence in 19 Indian cities and has an aggressively growing fan following on Facebook.
