UK Papers Taking a Bite at the Secondary Ticket Market.

With the current woes betiding print advertising, it’s not really surprising that publications are looking for alternative sources of revenue and Telegraph Tickets does have rather a ring to it.

That’s right, UK broadsheet The Telegraph is the latest publication to launch a snappy new ticket service giving fans of sport, music, theatre and comedy the ability to compare prices of tickets to events across a number of ticket agents such as Seatwave, See Tickets and Viagogo.

There are tickets to football matches in the Barclays Premier League, La Liga and the Bundesliga amongst others plus gigs, comedy, you name it.

We’re guessing it won’t be long before all newspapers, in the UK at least, are offering this service. The Independent is already working with Viagogo and The Mirror is also working with both primary and secondary ticket agents.

The press have latched onto the secondary ticket market because it offers them and their readership choice and variety as well as additional revenue. Not surprising then that the press were rather quiet on the subject of the recent parliamentary bill to restrict the market.
