Color Line Arena becomes O2 World Hamburg

It’s official: The Color Line Arena in Hamburg will now become an O2 World property. Rumors have been circulating since April 9th  about a planned transformation of the multifunctional venue hall which has a capacity of 16,000 people. The news was announced today at a press conference. 

The owner of the venue, the Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG), who also manage the O2 World in Berlin, herewith expand their cooperation with the telecommunication company. The press release says:

The Anschutz Entertainment Group, a subsidiary of the Anschutz Corporation and Telefónica O2 Germany, today announced to expand their strategic partnership.

The telecommunications company will take over the right to bear the name of the venue in Hamburg which, since 2007, has been part of the Anschutz-Gruppe. As of today Color Line Arena is officially called O2 World Hamburg.

The German CEO of O2 said:

“The winner of this cooperation are both the North of Germany and our customers”.


Detlef Kornett, CEO and president of the Anschutz-Gruppe in Germany added:

“The already biggest and most succesful multifunctional venue in northern Germany will become an even bigger value in the international entertainment branch”.
