Justin Bieber Coming to Europe

altJustin Bieber is coming to Europe - on May 21, 2010, he will be performing live at König Pilsener arena in Oberhausen for Viva Comet 2010, the largest and most popular music awards event in Germany, now in its 15th year. Rapid European fans across the continent have started Facebook campaigns, Twitter movements (3200 followers), petition sites, and even dedicated blogs to beg Bieber to cross the pond and perform for Europe, and it appears he is answering the call - for the Germans at least.

Other acts slated to play include Tokio Hotel, Silbermond, Fettes Brot, Jan Delay, Cassandra Steen, Mark Medlock, and more.

Coveted awards will be given out to the top German artists ten categories, but, for the first time in the history of COMET, the fans will decide not only who wins, but who will be nominated.

Justin Bieber is a Canadian pop/R&B singer whose performances on YouTube were seen by his future manager Scooter Braun. Braun arranged for him to meet with Usher in Atlanta, Georgia, and Bieber was soon signed to Raymond Braun Media Group (RBMG), a joint venture between Braun and Usher, and then to a recording contract with Island Records offered by L.A. Reid.

His debut single, "One Time", was released worldwide during 2009, and charted within the top thirty in over ten countries. It was followed by his debut release, My World on November 17, 2009, which was certified platinum in the United States, which at the time gave Bieber the highest debut by a new artist in the year, and made Bieber the first artist to have seven songs from a debut album chart on Billboard's Hot 100 chart. His first full studio release, My World 2.0 was released on March 23, 2010, debuting at number one and within the top ten of several countries. It was preceded by the international hit song, "Baby".
