Snoop Dogg Chopped From Dutch Festival

altSnoop Dogg has been axed from the line-up at a Dutch festival by The mayor of The Hague, public prosecutors and the local police. Organisers of the Parkpop festival, said to be the largest in Europe, now has to replace Snoop with another act “...in order to be able to guarantee the open and friendly character and free admission of Parkpop”.  The rapper was confirmed to play the Parkpop festival in The Hague on June 27, but has now been pulled from the bill after government officials freaked out. Known for his appreciation of marijuana and hash, Snoop Dogg is a frequent visitor to Holland it's it's plethora of 'coffee shops' - he usually does a concert a year in a country world-renouned for it's tolerance. Meanwhile, The Brits seem to be more tolerant in 2010 and Snoop Dogg will be performing at this year's Glastonbury festival which takes place on June 25-27th.

“This is all very annoying that the headliner is being removed from the programme 10 days before the event,” a spokeswoman for organiser Ducos Productions told ANP-Reuters.

Other acts set to appear at the bash include Alphabeat, Nick Lowe and Juliette Lewis.
