Euroteam Busted: Two Danes - Fined and May face South African Jail
altThe Star in South Africa is reporting that two employees of Norway's notorious Euroteam have been nicked for scalping World Cup Tickets. Two Danes appeared in South African court yesterday for allegedly selling tickets to World Cup matches. Michael Hougesen, 44, and Siv Anne Balslev, 27, were arrested at their hotel and were charged under the South African Unfair Business Practices Act. EU Ticket News reported earlier this week on a Nigerian who was jailed for three years for reselling tickets for the World Cup.

According to court documents  quoted by the Star, Hougesen and Balslev - allegedly representatives of Euroteam - are accused of selling World Cup tickets without Fifa's permission. Event company Match is the sole agent authorised by FIFA to sell and distribute tickets. Interestingly, the nephew of FIFA Chief Sepp Blatter is part owner of Match. The pair were released on €1600 each until next court date for sentencing.
