US Ticketing Startup Aims for $6 Billion Market in Unsold Seats Using Mobile Ticketing and Geolocation Technology

altGPS Business News,an online media providing business insights on mass market geo-location applications, has interviewed Kelly Tompkins, CEO and founder of ReserveX, who is confident that his soon-to-launch location-based mobile ticketing platform is going to start filling those empty seats: “We feel we can change that rate.”

Players such as Tickets.com, Ticketmaster and Live Nation already offer systems that allow other application developers to query their inventories and buy tickets. But ReserveX is going farther. The Altadena, California-based company is offering a new ticketing tool that marries the aggregation of primary and secondary ticketing markets with revenue management technology. Tompkins said the platform, which is launching in the autumn, is designed around location services to enable mobile carriers to integrate entertainment ticketing into their offering.

The company feels their niche is tackling the distribution landscape more effectively and broadly as it is rapidly changing as new aggregation systems, secondary ticketing marketers and access to primary ticketing providers becomes more open and accessible via XML standards and common interfaces. The problem is that there is no central access point for these various ticketing sources. This is the problem that ReserveX solves by providing essential middleware that connects distribution partners with event ticketing providers.

Prior to starting ReserveX, CEO Kelly Tompkins Kelly founded AdventureLink Inc., the leading global distribution network for booking adventure travel. Prior to AdventureLink Kelly Founded LeisureLink Inc. in 2002, the leading distribution network for reserving vacation rentals. He has fifteen years of experience as a pioneer in developing e-commerce companies and has worked with leading travel providers including SABRE, Expedia, GetThere, United Airlines, and Tickets.com.
