| Stubhub and Paciolan Ink Partnership Deal - Primary and Secondary Ticket Markets |
|
When the Department of Justice made Ticketmaster’s divestiture of Paciolan a requirement of the merger of Ticketmaster and Live Nation, a company that became Live Nation Entertainment, Comcast-Spectacor regained 100 percent control of the company. Paciolan sells over 100 million tickets annually. Whether Stubhub will participate in the other partnerships in pro sports and major venues remains to be seen. Electronic integration with Paciolan clients that opt-in to the partnership provides fans the ultimate in convenience and service. The product integration enables tickets to be purchased and then emailed instantly using the school's print-at-home delivery , which, combined with StubHub's automated fulfillment technology, allows for a streamlined listing and purchase process that saves buyers and sellers time. Florida State University and Purdue University, two of StubHub's 17 existing NCAA secondary ticketing category partners, and two of Paciolan's existing 98 college athletics partners, will be the first programs to leverage the StubHub and Paciolan combined offering for the upcoming NCAA college football season. Additional schools will be coming on board in time for basketball season. The partnership strengthens Paciolan's current ticket resale platform by offering a new option for teams to choose an 'open market' resale model with StubHub providing access to millions of consumers. "We are thrilled to partner with StubHub to offer an innovative ticket resale option to college athletics organizations and their season ticket holders," said Dave Butler, chief executive officer of Paciolan. "The StubHub integration also offers athletics programs greater reach to attract new buyers to purchase premium tickets, fill empty seats and increase game-day revenues." "StubHub is excited to team with Paciolan to provide an integrated ticketing solution to college sports fans," said Chris Tsakalakis, President of StubHub. "Working with Paciolan, we will provide even higher levels of customer satisfaction to our buyers and sellers because now it will be even easier and quicker for them to buy and sell on StubHub." With the new integration, teams that opt-in will offer both season ticket and individual game ticket holders the opportunity to list on StubHub and have their tickets instantly sent to buyers. Season ticket holders have the added luxury of not having to enter barcodes, they simply choose the events they would like to sell and click "sell". They are then re-directed to the season ticket landing page on StubHub and all of their seat information is automatically passed to the site. If and when their tickets sell, the order will be confirmed, the old barcodes cancelled, new barcodes generated, and brand new tickets will be emailed to the buyer within minutes, all without the seller needing to do anything. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, and it appears to be a multiyear pact.
