Four Brits Busted for Selling UK Sports Tickets

altThe UK Press Association is reporting that four people have been busted for allegedly selling secondary tickets for prime UK sporting events when police raided housed in London and Hertfordshire. The arrests were made by the Police Central e-crime Unit's Olympic team which is focussing on on organised cyber crime in the run-up to the 2012 olympics in London.

Police are saying the four made hundreds of thousands of pounds in buying non-transferable tickets through online ballots, fraudulent memberships and legitimate ticketing websites for top events such as Wimbledon and Premier League matches and then reselling them online for double the price.

Two men and two women, aged between 28 and 36, were arrested.

Detective Inspector Paul Hoare told the Press Association:

"We are working to bring justice to those committing these offences. Purchasing tickets from unauthorised sources risks refused entry and potentially a very expensive and disappointing day out for unsuspecting members of the public."
