altTicketmaster, a Live Nation Entertainment (NYSE: LYV) company, and IOMEDIA, a digital agency, today announced the creation of an exclusive relationship to introduce Virtual Venue™, a cutting-edge interactive ticketing technology to teams, venues, and fans across the sports and entertainment industry.

Virtual Venue™ is a fully integrated ticketing and venue experience that empowers fans by allowing them to digitally preview their exact seat’s location and sightlines, compare sections and check time-of-day viewpoints without having to physically visit the venue. The Virtual Venue™ integration with Ticketmaster’s flexible back-end technology is being rolled out in phases as an exclusive offering to all Ticketmaster clients. Madison Square Garden, the New York Knicks and Penn State University Sports will be among the first to utilize the innovative technology.

“This is another step in our strategic plan to improve the ticket purchasing experience and bring cutting-edge solutions to our venue and team client base,” said Nathan Hubbard, Ticketmaster’s CEO. “In conjunction with our interactive seating maps, we are fundamentally changing the way fans buy tickets. We believe this will further enhance conversion and fan satisfaction, and increase revenue on behalf of our clients.”

“Together with Ticketmaster, we are building the most advanced, one-stop destination for virtual seat selection and integrated ticket purchases,” said Steven Korian, IOMEDIA’s EVP, Sports & Entertainment. “IOMEDIA and Ticketmaster are now positioned better than ever to help teams market their packages and plans, engage their fans, and most importantly, sell more tickets.”

“The combined technology and intelligence of IOMEDIA and Ticketmaster will allow our season ticket holders to go from receiving an assigned seat location to allowing them to view, compare, select and purchase from all available seats on a real-time basis,” stated Greg Myford, Associate Athletic Director, Business Relations & Communications at Penn State. “This completely revolutionizes our fans’ ticketing experience. Fans want to know their options and deserve to select the ‘best’ seats based on their definition of ‘best’, not ours.”
